Central Plant Supervisor

SUMMARY 

The Central Plant Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all daily operations involving the repair and maintenance of the building's central plant (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, Boilers, Chillers and associated equipment & areas), with attention towards safety, security and asset protection. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:

• Daily inspection walkthrough of mechanical rooms, central plant, kitchens, Pools, laundry facilities & related equipment/areas.

• Management of the work orders and PM's related to Central plant.

• Daily supervision of Central plant technicians, managing workloads, and assigned projects.

• Leading, mentoring and training subordinate technicians per Montage & OSHA standards.

• Safety-first minded, enforcing best work practices to maintain a safe working environment.

• BMS & other facility automation system experience 

• A working knowledge of Plumbing and Electrical repairs and maintenance.

• In-depth involvement and knowledge of all fire and life safety systems on property.
•  Assist with execution of department trainings and innovative pre-shift programs.
• Assist in managing associate engagement, scheduling, payroll, counseling and quarterly department meetings.
• Complete daily shift reports and communicate necessary information with manager.
• Communicate and partner with all department leaders and hourly associates to ensure the guest experience is personalized and executed seamlessly.
• Circulate on the hotel grounds, continually communicate with guests and associates to ensure that each experience exceeds expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

• CPO (Certified Pool Operator)

• OSHA 10 hour

• 5 years’ experience in Facilities & Building maintenance.

• 2 years’ supervisory experience

• 2 years Facilities automation (BMS, BackTalk, JCI or other building automation system)

• 2 years’ experience working in mechanical trades (boilers, pumps, chillers, Commercial HVAC)

• 2 years experience Kitchen equipment repair

• EPA 608 certificate

• Boiler operators / Maintenance permit or willingness to obtain within 6 months

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
• Previous hospitality experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and various property specific software applications, MaintenanceDirect, and Energy Management Systems software

PREFERRED

• Experience working in project management fields with outside contractors and internal projects

• Certifications from Technical Maintenance Trade School

•  Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred

• Universal HVAC Technician certificate

• OSHA 30 hour

• Water treatment experience and/or certificate

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 15-40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
