GE Aerospace is seeking a Fluid Systems Design Engineer to support the research and development of fluid delivery systems for hypersonic air-breathing propulsion and vehicle systems. In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to design, analyze, test, and mature fluid system technologies that support the development of flight-ready hardware.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in engineering principles, strong analytical and test capability, and the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative technical environment. This role offers the opportunity to support advanced propulsion applications through computational analysis, hardware validation, and cross-functional problem solving.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Engineer - Fluid Mechanics, you will be focused on developing and analyzing fluid delivery systems in support of ground and flight test models of high-speed airbreathing engines for various GE Aerospace development programs.

You will perform research and development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies. You should have an excellent understanding of the engineering process, leading proof-of-concept ideas towards validated solutions. The ability to relate analytical results to experimental data in the design process is essential. Communication and documentation are critical as you will often need to prepare slides (or other documents) to present to the team, whether it is to describe results of analyses or to discuss project progress.

You will work in a team that performs research and development of fluid delivery systems in support of hypersonic air-breathing propulsion and vehicle systems. In this role you will:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to design, analyze, and test fluid delivery systems for high-speed air-breathing engines, using results to inform the design of flight-ready systems.
• Apply core engineering principles to technical assignments and fluid system development activities.
• Lead and participate in computational analyses to guide design improvements, using both spreadsheet-based tools and multiphysics solvers.
• Document and communicate assumptions, inputs, analysis methods, and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for technical review.
• Support the validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop testing and larger-scale test activities.
• Prepare presentations and briefing materials to communicate technical ideas, project status, and recommendations.
• Work effectively with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop and verify novel design solutions that meet program objectives for technical performance, cost, and schedule.
• Interact with industry partners and subcontractors to review analyses, concepts, and design approaches.
• Demonstrate a working understanding of business drivers and how individual work integrates with team and program goals.
• Exercise sound technical judgment within defined procedures and seek guidance from senior team members when needed.
• Build effective working relationships across teams and clearly explain technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in relevant job family group(s)/function(s)
• 0-3 years of experience in the design, analysis, and testing of fluid delivery systems
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to apply them to technical tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
• Willingness to work onsite in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL

The base pay range for this position is $103,200 - $129,600 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary and/or commission, depending on the applicable plan.
