Responsibilities:
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated EMT-Intermediate to serve the Lincoln County community through the safe operation and maintenance of emergency medical vehicles for Lincoln County Medical Center. Are you a skilled emergency responder ready to make a direct impact in the Lincoln County community? Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring an EMT Intermediate (EMT-I) for our ambulance field operations based at Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC).
In this vital role, you will maintain and operate emergency medical vehicles to provide safe, swift transportation for emergency and non-emergency patients. Partnering closely with Paramedics, you will deploy basic and intermediate-level life support protocols on the scene and during transit, ensuring the highest standards of pre-hospital clinical excellence in Ruidoso and the greater Lincoln County area.
🚑 Emergency Vehicle & Field Operations
- Safe Patient Transport: Maintain, inspect, and safely operate emergency medical vehicles adhering strictly to company policies, traffic laws, and best practices.
- Pre-Hospital Care: Assist Paramedics in delivering intermediate-level emergency medical care on scene and en route, attending to a minimum of 50% of all assigned requests for service.
- Operational Efficiency: Proactively optimize time-on-task components, utilizing best practices to minimize out-of-chute, response, and patient drop times.
📝 Documentation & Continuity of Care
- Quality Charting: Complete meticulous medical documentation for every transport utilizing the established RESCUE narrative format.
- Financial & Legal Compliance: Gather accurate patient demographics and data to support medical billing, legal requirements, and clinical continuity.
- Facility Collaboration: Maintain positive, professional communication with receiving physicians and hospital staff regarding the definitive therapies initiated in the field.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED, plus completion of a formal EMT course.
- Licensure & Certification: Current New Mexico State EMT license, active BLS certification, a valid New Mexico driver’s license, and a Medical Examiner’s certification.
- Must pass NMDOT driving requirements
- Core Competencies: Age 18 or older with the ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
