About the Role WITHIN is looking for an Email Designer to join our Lifecycle team. In this role, you’ll create compelling, on-brand email experiences that help our clients engage customers and drive measurable business results.

You’ll be responsible for translating campaign strategies, creative briefs, and brand guidelines into polished email designs across a variety of lifecycle touchpoints—from promotional campaigns and product launches to automated journeys and retention programs.

The ideal candidate combines strong visual design fundamentals with an understanding of how people engage with content in the inbox. You’re comfortable working across multiple brands, collaborating with strategists, copywriters, and developers, and designing within the unique constraints and best practices of email.

What You'll Do

• Design engaging, high-quality email creative for a portfolio of client brands
• Translate creative briefs, campaign strategies, and brand guidelines into effective email designs
• Create designs for promotional campaigns, product launches, newsletters, triggered communications, and automated lifecycle journeys
• Develop reusable email templates and modular design systems that allow teams to create campaigns efficiently and consistently
• Design with a mobile-first and responsive mindset, considering how layouts and content will adapt across devices
• Apply email design best practices around hierarchy, readability, accessibility, CTA placement, and conversion
• Partner closely with copywriters, Lifecycle strategists, account teams, and Email/CRM developers to bring campaigns from concept through execution
• Prepare and organize design files and assets for efficient developer handoff
• Incorporate client and internal feedback while maintaining brand consistency and design quality
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines across different clients and campaigns
• Stay current on email, CRM, e-commerce, and digital design trends and bring new ideas to the team
• Use performance insights and campaign learnings to continuously improve creative approaches

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional digital design experience, ideally with experience designing email, CRM, lifecycle, or e-commerce marketing creative
• A strong portfolio demonstrating digital design work and strong visual design fundamentals
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy, color, imagery, and brand consistency
• Experience designing responsive, mobile-first digital experiences
• Understanding of email-specific design considerations and limitations
• Ability to work within established brand guidelines while finding opportunities to elevate the creative
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver polished work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable receiving, interpreting, and incorporating creative feedback

Nice to Have

• Experience designing lifecycle marketing programs or automated customer journeys
• Experience working with DTC, e-commerce, or consumer brands
• Familiarity with platforms such as Klaviyo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Attentive
• Familiarity with email QA and testing tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and how email designs are translated into responsive builds
• Experience creating or maintaining modular email design systems
• Experience using performance data, A/B testing results, or customer insights to inform creative decisions
• Experience working in an agency or other fast-paced, multi-client environment
