Role Summary
As part of the Office Print Engineering Singapore leadership team, the candidate will lead an Electronics Engineer (EE) team to develop and deliver all products' electronics system that are managed as well as hosted by the Lab. This includes A4 Volume and SMB Laserjet Products and related electronic assets. In addition, the team will host, grow and develop technical depth of both EE assets and EE product development competencies.
The successful candidate will need to manage staff activities and provide guidance to the team in solving complex business/technical issues. Participate in the planning and development of lab technical capability and know-how to meet the long-term goals of the organization. Plans, recruit, manage and monitor development of the team and brings out the best efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Cultivate a collaborative team with growth and innovative mindset to constantly exceed business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions and coordinating projects for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms.
- Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
- Engages with program managers, other R&D asset teams, cross functional teams to define the scope, manage resources, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making.
- Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
- Drives efficiency in development phase to enable better responses to market needs.
- Provides people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Typically, 6+ years of experience in related technical field. People management experience would be advantageous.
- Proven leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management.
- Strong project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering programs, assets and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
