Electrical Substation Engineer - Transmission and Distribution

What you'll do
As an Electrical Substation Engineer in our Transmission and Distribution team, you'll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.
Join a team delivering some of the most significant substation, transmission and energy infrastructure projects across New Zealand and Australia, with opportunities spanning grid infrastructure, major industrial developments and data centres.
- Contribute to major substation refurbishment and new-build projects across New Zealand
- Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation with senior guidance
- Coordinate with drafters and complete initial quality checks
- Gain exposure to Australian energy infrastructure and data centre projects
- Build your technical, design review and client-facing capability
- Grow into design review, client engagement and future leadership opportunities
What you'll bring
- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (bachelor’s degree in electrical, Power systems, etc.)
- Around three to four years' practical high voltage substation design experience in either Primary, secondary or Protection design.
- Experience with cable sizing, busbar sizing, secondary & controls, Protection, and substation layouts
- Familiarity with relevant IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards
- Working knowledge of relevant IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards
- The ability to deliver defined design packages with proportionate senior oversight
