Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Join KLA's Reticle Product Division and play a key role in shaping the next generation of electronics platforms for advanced semiconductor metrology systems.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer who can quickly assume ownership of ongoing electronics development projects, lead PCB redesign activities, and drive critical deliverables to production release. The successful candidate will bring deep practical experience in mixed-signal hardware development and be effective in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment with significant onsite interaction across engineering disciplines.

In this role, you will drive complex electronics development initiatives from concept through production release while collaborating with internal engineering teams, external development partners, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with the ability to coordinate complex development activities, manage technical risks, and successfully execute projects in a highly interdisciplinary and international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex PCB redesign and electronics development projects from requirements definition through production release.
  • Own the technical planning, execution, risk management, and tracking of electronics development activities.
  • Define system and subsystem requirements for electronic assemblies and interfaces.
  • Develop, review, and approve analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic designs.
  • Coordinate schematic development, PCB layout reviews, prototype builds, qualification activities, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Collaborate with external design houses, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Drive root-cause investigations, verification, validation, and design optimization activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, manufacturing documentation, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and service engineering teams.
  • Contribute to future platform architectures, technology roadmaps, and continuous product improvements.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project status effectively within international and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mixed-signal electronics design.
  • High-speed digital interfaces and embedded control systems.
  • Sensor signal acquisition and processing.
  • Actuator and motion control interfaces.
  • FPGA or DSP-based systems.
  • MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for simulation and data analysis.
  • Good German language skills are highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in electronics development.
  • Proven experience leading technical development projects or major work packages.
  • Strong background in PCB architecture, schematic design, and electronics integration.
  • Experience managing suppliers, external development partners, or contract engineering organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing complex electronic products from concept through manufacturing release.
  • Experience developing electronics for industrial equipment, machine control systems, automation systems, semiconductor equipment, medical devices, or comparable high-reliability applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and advocate technical positions using sound engineering judgment while remaining open to constructive challenges and alternative approaches.
  • Strong analytical, structured, and solution-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to approximately 20%).
  • Valid EU work permit required.
