Electrical Engineer – Large Scale Renewables

What you’ll do

As an Electrical Engineer – Large Scale Renewables in our Energy team based in Perth , you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.  

Amongst other engineering tasks you will focus on

• Contribute to electrical design packages for wind, solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, taking responsibility for assigned design tasks.
• Deliver medium voltage (MV) electrical designs, including underground cable design and cable sizing and optimisation for renewable generation and BESS projects.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate electrical designs and resolve technical interfaces.
• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary design teams to delivery electrical designs as integrated designs for energy clients.
• Apply practical engineering judgement to deliver coordinated electrical solutions across wind, solar and BESS projects.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and experience delivering electrical designs for large scale renewable generation projects (such as wind and solar farms).
• Practical medium voltage design experience, including underground cable design, cable sizing and contributing to electrical design packages.
• Experience collaborating with civil engineers and other disciplines to deliver coordinated project outcomes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across project teams and delivery locations.
• Exposure to battery energy storage systems (BESS) and their integration into renewable energy projects.
• A background in consulting or with an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, supported by hands-on renewable generation project design experience.
