We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Brain-Computer Interface team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for wearable prototypes, from early architecture through implementation and validation

  • Integrate sensors, analog front ends, power, clocks, communications, and embedded interfaces into compact wearable platforms

  • Partner with remote hardware engineering teams to align on system integration, requirements, and technical tradeoffs.

  • Support schematic capture, PCB design reviews, component selection, design-for-test, and hardware documentation

  • Lead board bring-up and debug using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment.

  • Characterize signal quality, noise, interference, power behavior, and system performance in realistic wearable conditions

  • Build test plans and automated or semi-automated validation workflows for prototype hardware.

  • Collaborate with firmware and algorithms engineers to expose reliable sensor data and diagnose end-to-end system issues

  • Work with mechanical and industrial design partners to package sensors, boards, connectors, and flexes within compact wearable form factors

  • Translate experimental prototypes into robust designs suitable for repeated builds, field studies, and productization

  • Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly through design reviews, documentation, test reports, and concise engineering updates

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power delivery, signal integrity, sensor interfaces, embedded hardware, and battery-operated systems

  • Knowledge of EEG and biopotential signal acquisition, including low-noise analog front ends and signal integrity considerations

  • Knowledge of signal processing fundamentals, including sampling, filtering, and spectral analysis

  • Skill in using PCB layout and schematic capture tools such as Cadence Allegro, OrCAD Capture, or Altium Designer, as well as SPICE-based circuit simulation tools

  • Skill in using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies.

  • Ability to plan and execute hardware characterization and validation, including signal quality, noise, interference, and power measurements

  • Ability to isolate root causes across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and system-level interfaces

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and make technical tradeoffs in an evolving, early-stage environment

  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and test results clearly in written and verbal form

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent years of experience

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering

  • Experience taking electronic hardware from schematic through bring-up, characterization, and iteration

  • Experience integrating analog and digital circuitry, power management, sensors, and embedded hardware interfaces within a larger system

  • Experience analyzing and characterizing sensor signals using laboratory equipment, filtering, spectral analysis, and noise and interference measurements

  • Experience collaborating across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and software disciplines to resolve system-level integration issues

  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and validating wearable electronics, sensor systems, or consumer electronics

  • Familiarity with EEG, biopotential, low-noise analog acquisition, or other physiological sensing systems

  • Experience with flexible circuits, miniaturized electronics, high-density interconnects, or constrained mechanical packaging

  • Experience developing hardware test automation, data acquisition, or analysis workflows using Python or similar tools

  • Track record of moving prototypes toward productization, including contributions to production test, design-for-manufacturing, reliability testing, or engineering builds

  • Experience translating research prototypes and experimental results into engineering requirements
