The School of Drama at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Drama/Bank Street Programs, Student Assistant. We’re looking for an organized and enthusiastic individual with a self-starter disposition interested in all aspects of drama production & operations to support the School of Drama’s programs at 151 Bank Street . This is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in non-profit, performing arts, or higher education administration..

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support daily operations within the School of Drama and Production programs with scheduling, paperwork, database upkeep, and general organizational/operational tasks

  • Station Bank Street’s Welcome Hub in Room 102 to answer student, faculty and visitor questions

  • Assist with faculty copy/IT needs, mail distribution, stocking supplies, program printing, special events, and mainstage marketing support. 

  • Generate information and update College of Performing Arts Calendar; Post monthly on Call Board

  • Support needs for classes / small projects

  • Manage supply orders and restocking (tape, first aid, etc.)

  • Create and circulate materials for the Arts Letters

  • Maintain photo archives, scripts and production books

  • Maintain physical supplies in Bank Street as requested

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and group and independent problem solving skills

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite: Drive, Calendar, etc

  • General knowledge of theater practices and protocols

  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current student in a College of Performing Arts degree program

  • At least one semester at The New School/other university or equivalent professional experience.

  • Interest in operations and production, administration, and/or creative technologies.

  • Current student enrolled in a College of Performing Arts program

  • Recipient of a Federal Work Study award.

WORK MODE

  • On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI

Hourly Rate: Hourly Rate: $17.00

Hours per Week: up to 10-20 on average

Assist with faculty IT needs, supply inventory, calendar management, event marketing, production archiving, and the creation of Arts Letters materials.
