Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate learning activities.
  • Implement play-based, exploratory, and student-centered teaching strategies.
  • Support the development of language, motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional skills.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Student Development and Monitoring

  • Observe and monitor students’ overall development and progress.
  • Assess students using developmentally appropriate tools and strategies.
  • Identify students who may require additional support and collaborate on intervention strategies.
  • Promote positive behavior, independence, and social interaction.

Classroom Management

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Establish routines and expectations that promote structure and safety.
  • Ensure the appropriate use and care of classroom materials and resources.

Documentation and Follow-up

  • Prepare and maintain updated records of lesson planning, student progress, and assessments.
  • Collect and organize evidence of student learning in line with institutional guidelines.
  • Ensure proper organization and maintenance of academic documentation.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Maintain clear, respectful, and consistent communication with parents regarding student development.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, specialists, and school staff.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and institutional activities.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Report any concerns related to student welfare in a timely and appropriate manner.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development.
  • Ability to implement play-based and student-centered teaching strategies.
  • Classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Creativity in lesson planning and activity design.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or pedagogical training (desirable).
  • Knowledge of early childhood education programs and methodologies.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children.
  • Experience planning and delivering early childhood education activities.
  • Experience monitoring and supporting child development.
  • Experience working collaboratively in educational teams.
  • Experience communicating with families (desirable).
