The Role

Hybrid Working Requirement: Candidates should be flexible to attend our Marousi, Athens office 3 times per week. Please note that travel or commuting expenses will not be covered for candidates residing outside Attiki or outside a reasonable commuting distance.

We are looking for a highly experienced Director of Cloud DevOps to lead our cloud infrastructure strategy, drive reliability, scalability and security across our AWS and GCP environments, and mentor high-performing technical teams. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on expertise in cloud engineering, Kubernetes and automation with strong leadership skills and a forward-thinking approach to modern DevOps and AI infrastructure.

Scope of Tasks

• Defining, championing, and executing the company’s DevOps and cloud roadmap to ensure alignment with rapid product development and global scale
• Leading, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team of DevOps and Cloud Engineers while fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure primarily on AWS
• Driving the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles to ensure all infrastructure is versioned, automated, and reproducible
• Continuously improving and automating CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and frequent software releases across the organization
• Establishing and tracking key reliability metrics such as SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs to ensure maximum platform uptime and performance
• Overseeing critical operational areas including monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, disaster recovery, and capacity planning
• Integrating security best practices into the entire SDLC (DevSecOps) to ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 standards
• Managing cloud spending effectively through FinOps practices, identifying cost-saving measures without compromising on performance
• Driving the evolution of containerization and orchestration strategies using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) across the global platform

Requirements

• Cloud Engineering, or SRE
• Demonstrating over 5 years of extensive, hands-on experience designing and managing complex, high-availability production workloads on AWS
• Having proven experience in a leadership role such as Director, Head of, or Lead, with a track record of successfully mentoring technical teams
• Possessing expert-level proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
• Holding deep technical mastery of AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, and advanced networking/security tools
• Showing expert-level knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management, Helm charts, and service mesh concepts
• Having strong experience with modern CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, with a commitment to GitOps principles
• Demonstrating proficiency in at least one relevant scripting language like Python, Bash, or Go
• Possessing the ability to manage multi-cloud environments, specifically involving both AWS and GCP
• Having experience with advanced observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog as a distinct advantage
• Showing familiarity with MLOps or AI infrastructure pipelines to support the industry's shift toward AI-driven translation
• Possessing English language skills at a professional level to lead global teams and align technical strategy with business objectives
