As a Director, Finance Analytics, Process Excellence & AI you will be responsible for leading Finance Operations and Procurement Operations analytics, reporting, process intelligence, automation, and AI enablement capabilities. The role leads the Data Analytics team and partners closely with Global Process Owners, Service Delivery leaders, and business stakeholders to provide actionable insights, performance visibility, governance, and analytical capabilities that support operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This leader is responsible for establishing KPI and performance measurement reporting strategies, process intelligence capabilities, and AI-enabled insights that help identify opportunities, quantify business impact, monitor outcomes, support Finance and Procurement transformation objectives, and enable effective decision-making across Finance and Procurement Operations.
The position supports Accounts Payable (AP), Travel & Expense (T&E), Record-to-Report (R2R), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Procurement Operations by providing the insights, tools, analytics, and governance needed to improve operational performance, stakeholder experience, controls, compliance, and business outcomes.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Process Excellence & Operational Insights:
- Define and execute the roadmap for KPI and performance reporting, process intelligence, and AI-enabled insights across Finance Operations and Procurement Operations.
- Partner with Global Process Owners and operational leaders to identify opportunities for standardization, simplification, automation, and performance improvement through data-driven insights.
- Support Finance and Procurement transformation initiatives by leveraging analytics, process intelligence, benchmarking, and performance insights to drive measurable business outcomes.
- Utilize process mining, benchmarking, root cause analysis, and operational performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Quantify business impacts and support business case development through analytical modeling and performance measurement.
- Establish performance monitoring frameworks that measure operational effectiveness, efficiency, quality, compliance, and stakeholder experience.
- Enable Global Process Owners and Service Delivery leaders with actionable insights that support prioritization and decision-making.
- Ensure analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives support measurable business outcomes and operational objectives.
Analytics, Reporting & Performance Management:
- Lead the global Data Analytics team responsible for Finance and Procurement Operations reporting, analytics, and insights.
- Define and govern centralized KPI and performance reporting standards, dashboard strategies, and scorecards, while allowing functions and regions to use locally relevant KPIs within the established governance framework.
- Establish consistent governance for KPI definitions, ownership, calculation methodologies, and reporting. Partner with Global Process Owners to define process KPI calculations and maintain centralized visibility of approved global and local measures.
- Deliver executive dashboards, management reporting, and operational analytics that provide timely and actionable insights.
- Advance self-service reporting capabilities and improve accessibility of operational and performance data.
- Develop predictive, diagnostic, and trend-based analytics that improve operational visibility and decision-making.
- Translate complex data into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
AI, Automation & Innovation:
- Evaluate and prioritize opportunities to use diagnostic, predictive, and AI-enabled insights, intelligent automation, and emerging technologies to improve process visibility and decision support within Finance and Procurement Operations.
- Identify high-value use cases where process data and AI can detect patterns, surface root causes, anticipate risks, and improve reporting, decision support, process visibility, and operational effectiveness.
- Support the development and deployment of AI and automation solutions that address business needs and deliver measurable value.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities by partnering with business leaders to embed solutions into day-to-day operations and realize measurable value.
- Promote responsible AI adoption in alignment with governance, compliance, privacy, security, and internal control requirements.
- Build AI literacy and encourage adoption of AI-enabled capabilities across Finance and Procurement Operations teams.
- Monitor and assess emerging technology trends and their potential application to Finance and Procurement Operations.
Demand Management & Governance:
- Manage intake, prioritization, and governance processes for analytics, reporting, automation, and AI requests across Finance and Procurement Operations.
- Facilitate prioritization discussions that align resources with business objectives and operational needs.
- Align analytics, automation, and AI investments with Finance and Procurement transformation priorities and strategic roadmaps.
- Provide transparency into project portfolios, analytics initiatives, resource utilization, and expected business outcomes.
- Monitor delivery performance and benefits realization of analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
- Establish governance forums and decision-making processes that support effective prioritization and execution.
Data Governance, Risk & Controls:
- Establish and maintain data governance practices that improve data quality, consistency, reliability, and trust.
- Ensure reporting, analytics, automation, and AI solutions leverage governed and controlled data sources.
- Define standards for data sourcing, transformation, validation, reporting controls, and centralized KPI and performance reporting governance.
- Support audit, compliance, control, and regulatory requirements related to reporting and analytical solutions.
- Partner with Internal Controls, Audit, Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security teams as required.
- Monitor data quality and reporting integrity across Finance and Procurement Operations.
Business Partnership & Enablement:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Global Process Owners, Service Delivery leaders, and Finance leadership by providing performance insights, benchmarking, trend analysis, and data-driven recommendations.
- Support end-to-end Finance and Procurement Operations processes, including AP, T&E, AR, R2R, and Procurement Operations.
- Enable data-driven decision-making through KPI and performance reporting, analytics, process intelligence that identifies process patterns and root causes, and AI-enabled insights that support forward-looking decisions.
- Lead change adoption activities associated with new analytics, process intelligence, automation, and AI capabilities to ensure sustainable business outcomes.
- Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to executive and operational stakeholders.
- Collaborate across Finance and Procurement Operations to ensure alignment of priorities, performance objectives, and reporting needs.
- Promote a culture of measurement, accountability, and continuous improvement through meaningful performance visibility.
Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing global team focused on analytics, reporting, process intelligence, automation opportunities, and AI enablement.
- Champion a culture of curiosity, accountability, digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and customer focus across the team and broader Finance and Procurement Operations organization.
- Develop team capabilities in analytics, process mining, AI, data storytelling, business partnership, and problem-solving.
- Coach and mentor team members while driving engagement, capability building, and career development.
- Manage resource planning, performance management, organizational development, succession planning, and talent growth.
- Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned to business objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent a plus
- Experience providing business leadership, product ownership, or strategic oversight for analytics, process-mining, automation, and AI solutions in partnership with technology and data teams.
