About this Director, Content Strategy role at Noom US

Noom US · Hybrid · New York, New York, United States; Princeton, New Jersey, United States

Noom is on a mission to help people live better, longer. We’re a consumer-led digital health company, connecting people to content, coaching, community, and clinicians to build lasting habits and live healthier lives. We’re a high-growth organization powered by science, technology, and world-class talent. When you join Noom, on any team, you’ll see the impact of your work on the world.

Our Content Team

Content at Noom sits at the intersection of behavior change science and everyday product experience. Grounded in psychology, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) principles, our content helps members build lasting habits and improve their health—from weight loss and nutrition to sleep, stress, movement, and overall wellness.

Our work spans structured mini-courses, personalized daily content, microhabit challenges, and treatment guides. It’s how members learn, build skills, and trust Noom with their health. We’re also expanding how AI-assisted workflows help a small team create content at scale while maintaining quality and accuracy.

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on content leader to define and own the vision for health and behavior change content across Noom’s member experience.

Reporting to the VP of Product Design & Content, you’ll lead a small team and own the strategy and roadmap across curriculum, daily articles, the content library, microhabit challenges, and recipes. You’ll guide content for new product launches, strengthen the connection between content and business outcomes, and ensure every experience is clear, trustworthy, and grounded in behavior change science.

This role combines leadership with execution. You’ll set direction and develop your team while personally outlining, drafting, reviewing, and editing content. You’ll also bring together partners across Product, Design, Clinical, Marketing, CRM, and Customer Experience to align messaging and deliver a cohesive member experience.

You Will

  • Define the content strategy and roadmap across the member journey, balancing member needs, business goals, and team capacity
  • Lead content for new launches, physical or digital, from strategy through hands-on outlining, drafting, and editing, so every launch arrives with clear, trustworthy content that supports informed decisions
  • Translate behavior change science, including CBT-based approaches, into engaging, practical content that helps members build lasting habits
  • Set best practices for content-driven growth, placing content where it helps members find the right next step, and using data to measure and refine what works
  • Partner with Product and Design to evolve content-led features such as the content library, microhabit challenges, and recipes
  • Own editorial quality and brand voice for all in-app content, personally reviewing and editing alongside clinical experts to ensure accuracy, trust, and psychological soundness
  • Lead cross-functional content alignment across Product, Email, Web, Creative, Clinical, and Customer Experience
  • Build and scale AI-assisted workflows that help the team move faster while maintaining quality
  • Manage and develop a small content team, setting priorities, shaping team structure and career paths, and supporting professional growth

About You

If you’re passionate about health and wellness, think strategically about content as both a member experience and a growth lever, can build clarity out of ambiguity, and want to shape how millions of people learn about and manage their health, this role may be for you.

You Have

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years of direct management experience
  • Proven content strategy leadership in a complex consumer digital product, with measurable impact across multiple content surfaces
  • Background and expertise creating content on the lifestyle side of improving health, including nutrition, weight management, sleep, stress, movement, and habit formation
  • Ability to speak credibly to the clinical side of health, including treatments members may be taking through Noom, and to partner with clinicians to turn complex information into clear, accurate content
  • Experience applying behavior change science and psychology-based approaches, such as CBT, motivational interviewing, or habit-formation frameworks, to digital content and experiences
  • A track record of managing and developing content professionals and prioritizing work across a small team supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Strong hands-on writing and editing skills, with sound judgment around accuracy, tone, and trust in health-related content
  • Experience using data and research to guide content decisions and measure engagement or conversion
  • Experience in a regulated or highly complex industry preferred, where legal, clinical, and compliance considerations shape content decisions
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, with the ability to align Product, Design, Marketing, Clinical, and executive stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools to content workflows to improve speed and quality
  • The ability to set realistic goals and deliver across a broad, evolving scope with limited resources
  • A commitment to accessible, human-centered content

What Makes This Job Amazing

  • Your work directly helps members understand their health, build lasting habits, and make informed decisions.
  • You’ll define how content supports Noom’s expansion from weight loss into a broader health platform.
  • You’ll have ownership over strategy and execution, with a team to lead and develop.
  • You’ll build on existing AI capabilities and help define how a content team uses these tools in everyday work.

What You’ll Earn and Enjoy

  • Pay that reflects your impact. Compensation benchmarked to the market and shaped by your impact and value.
  • Investment in your future. A 401(k) with company match to help you build long-term financial security.
  • Time to truly recharge. Paid holidays, generous time off, Summer Fridays, and a company-wide Summer Break week so the whole team can unplug together.
  • Care that covers it all. Access to top-tier medical plans for you and your family, including a premium-free plan option, alongside dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for growing families. Paid parental leave to give you the time and flexibility to focus on what matters most.
  • And more to help you thrive. Stock awards, a performance-based bonus, and exclusive access to Noom’s products, so you can grow with us, win with us, and enjoy what we build.

The expected base salary for this position is $149,000–$195,000. Actual compensation is determined by job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role is eligible for our NYC or Princeton office locations, operating on a hybrid schedule (2 days per week on-site).
