This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a SAP Functional Engineer, in Panama City, Panama, with Signify, the world leader in lighting.

The SAP ECC & S/4HANA Sales & Distribution (SD) Functional Engineer is responsible for delivering operational support, executing change requests, and driving projects within the legacy ECC environment. Additionally, the role plays a key part in the greenfield S/4HANA implementation — actively participating in the deployment, SIT and UAT support — while ensuring seamless post-go-live support. Working within a global team, this professional collaborates closely with business stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to maintain stable, compliant, and efficient Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.

• Core SD Functional Expertise: Provide deep functional support and configuration across core Sales & Distribution (SD) processes, including EDI, Sales Order Management, ATP/aATP, Pricing, Shipping, Delivery Processing, Billing, Returns, Credit Management, Output Management, and Electronic Invoicing.

• Application Managed Services (AMS) Support: Deliver end-to-end support within an AMS framework, driving incident management, service requests, defect resolution, and root cause analysis in strict compliance with SLAs.

• Testing & Quality Assurance: Drive the execution of System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and regression testing to ensure high-quality delivery of all changes, patches, and system upgrades.

• Cross-Functional Integration: Safeguard and optimize end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes through strong functional integration with Finance (FI/CO), Supply Chain/Manufacturing (PP/MM), Warehousing (WM/EWM), and Transportation (TM) domains.

• Change Request Management: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of functional Change Requests (CRs) and enhancements—from requirements gathering and solution design to configuration, impact analysis, and successful transport to production.

• Project Delivery & S/4HANA Deployment: Partner with Sales Business Process Owners, key users, and project teams to deploy the global S/4HANA greenfield implementation locally, ensuring all solutions remain strictly aligned with the global template.

More about you

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  
• Languages: Fluency in English is required; professional proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is highly advantageous.
• Experience: 3+ years in SAP SD functional roles.
  SAP Certification: Certified in SAP SD (ECC or S/4HANA) is highly advantageous.
  Hands-on Configuration: Proven experience configuring core SAP SD functionalities, including Sales Order types, Pricing Procedures (Condition Techniques), Shipping/Delivery layouts, Billing variants, and Credit Management.
• Integrations & EDI: Solid knowledge of EDI/IDocs, API interfaces, and integration points with external logistics (3PL) and Transportation Management (TM) systems.
• Cross-Module Synergy: Good understanding of integration touchpoints with Finance (FI/CO), Material Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and Warehouse Management (WM/EWM).
• S/4HANA & O2C Blueprint: Strong functional understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, covering advanced topics like ATP/aATP, Output Management (BRF+), and Electronic Invoicing.
  AMS & Global Operations: Extensive experience working in a global Application Managed Services (AMS) or production support environment, managing multiple stakeholders across time zones.
  Application Lifecycle: Strong track record in application maintenance, including incident resolution (L2/L3), problem management, root-cause analysis, and system enhancements
• Testing Excellence: Experience preparing test scenarios, executing SIT/UAT, and supporting regression testing for monthly releases or major rollouts.
