Digital Design Lead Beijing

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead digital SoC development for cutting edge physical intelligence ICs such as high-performance MCU/DSP/NPU products used in Automotive smart cockpit and Industrial applications.

In this role, you will take ownership of both technical leadership and team/project execution. You will lead a team of digital designers to deliver complex digital SoCs that enable next-generation audio processors and other physical intelligence areas. This role requires strong hands-on expertise, system-level thinking, and proven capability to drive projects across multiple milestones through tape-out.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead block-level and chip-level digital architecture definition, RTL design, and implementation for digital SoCs.
  • Drive key architecture and micro-architecture decisions, balancing performance, power, area, and schedule.
  • Review and approve critical RTL designs, verification strategies, and design documentation.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex design, integration, and silicon bring-up issues.
  • Own end-to-end digital design execution from architecture definition through tape-out.
  • Define and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies for digital design activities.
  • Participate in digital implementation jobs such as Lint, CDC, constraints, synthesis, formal verification, ECO, timing and power closure.
  • Work closely with system, analog/mixed-signal, verification, software, and test teams to ensure smooth integration.
  • Proactively identify and resolve cross-functional issues that may impact quality, schedule, or product goals

People & Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing digital design team, providing technical direction and career guidance.

Foster a team culture emphasizing technical excellence, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular design and project reviews, ensuring accountability and high-quality execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital IC / SoC design, with demonstrated ownership of complex IPs or full-chip designs.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in RTL design, digital architecture, and mixed-signal SoC integration.
  • Solid understanding of block-level and system-level verification methodologies and flows.
  • Proven experience in leading projects and/or managing engineers, with clear examples of driving execution and resolving technical challenges.
  • Experience or awareness of AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EDA flows (synthesis, STA, verification) and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align technical teams and clearly communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, physical intelligence product development environment.

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export  licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.  As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
