The Role
Nex Playground is bringing families together through active play, with games tailor made with motion mechanics in mind. To support our rapid game development, we rely on robust building and testing infrastructure, a scalable CICD pipeline and various server tools.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (Game Production), who will maintain tools and servers supporting our game production. It involves setting up monitors and reacting to problems early, ensuring that our developers can remain productive all the time. It also includes automating workflows and streamlining processes where applicable.
As part of the developer experience team, we will work alongside game developers to identify their pain points and need. We maintain existing tools while innovate for new ones. We help support and scale game content production at Nex.
What You'll Do
- Maintain our Unity build pipeline — Ensure its reliability and adopt new features.
- Server and tools monitoring — Set up proper monitoring and alerts for crucial components such as our package server and Developer Portal.
- Automate tools deployment — Adopt best practices for our tools development and deployment.
- Console configs and operations — Manage dev device firmwares and environments for our developers.
- Knowledge sharing with other DevOps teams — Stay up to date and grow together.
Must Have
- 3+ years of game development or DevOps experience
- Experience working with multiple teams / stakeholders
- Experience working with software involving multiple components / systems.
- Fierce empathy for fellow developers and other teams involved in game production, such as QA.
Should Have
- An obsession with code and product quality.
- Experience with tooling and automation.
- Knowledge of server deployment / maintenance, such as terraform.
- A growth mindset, always looking for more.
- Excitement about working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- A love for staying active and healthy, with a passion for helping others do the same.
