ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

You develop and implement assembly and integration processes for optomechanical components, assemblies, and modules—from concept to release. The focus is on requirements management, close coordination with partners and suppliers, and on-time provisioning. Operational readiness and service planning ensure a smooth serial production flow.

Your role:

  • Conceptualize, develop, and implement assembly and integration systems and processes for optomechanical components, assemblies, and modules into production.
  • Define and align technical requirements (requirements management) and ensure they are timely, functional, and fit-for-production/installation to provide assemblies for further development steps.
  • Develop and manage assembly and integration processes for optomechanical components in close collaboration with external partners and suppliers.
  • Independently and customer-orientedly manage the processes from concept through approval.
  • Ensure the operability of assembly and integration equipment/processes, including creation and implementation of maintenance and service plans.

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed degree in a technical field, e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Production/Process Engineering or equivalent; ideally with PhD or relevant professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of assembly, integration, and manufacturing techniques/processes, preferably for manufacturing in cleanroom environments.
  • Knowledge of applying and implementing technical requirements management is advantageous; strong planning and organizational skills, even under dynamic conditions and changing requirements.
  • Strong customer orientation and clear understanding of internal partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Very high level of initiative, resilience, and flexibility, plus economically minded thinking and action.
  • Excellent communication skills and pronounced assertiveness for effective alignment and sustainable embedding of technical requirements and process standards.
