About the job
As a Development Engineer in Alfa Laval’s pump group, you will contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of our centrifugal pump portfolio. The role focuses primarily on strengthening and improving existing products, ensuring that they continue to meet customer needs, support reliable delivery and remain competitive in the market.
You will work across the full product lifecycle, from identifying improvement opportunities and conducting hands-on testing to supporting product launches and solving technical challenges. As part of a global, cross-functional R&D organization, you will collaborate with colleagues across engineering, operations, technical support and other business functions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and maintain the existing Alfa Laval centrifugal pump portfolio.
- Drive product improvement activities that strengthen competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Plan and conduct hands-on product testing in the Innovation Center.
- Further develop testing methods and approaches for pump products.
- Participate in projects from initial idea through development and product launch.
- Support Global Technical Support with technical knowledge and product expertise.
- Support global operations and contribute to supply chain-related projects.
- Collaborate with R&D colleagues and cross-functional teams across Alfa Laval.
- Contribute to quality improvements and process development.

What you know
To succeed in this role, you bring a strong mechanical engineering foundation, relevant experience from product development and a practical interest in design, testing and continuous improvement.
- Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical education.
- At least five years of relevant experience, preferably from an R&D or product development environment.
- Experience with hands-on product design and physical testing.
- Strong understanding of product construction, mechanical design and manufacturing methods.
- Experience with CAD and PLM systems, ideally Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with fluid dynamics.
- Knowledge of pump technologies or the hygienic industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with FEM and an interest in further developing your competence in this area.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Danish language skills are an advantage.
