The County of Kaua`i Prosecutor is seeking Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys to represent the People of Kaua`i County by prosecuting criminal actions in the District, Family and Circuit Courts of the Fifth Judicial Circuit, on the Island of Kaua`i.Examples of Duties:
Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys are encouraged to be active in the state and local community bar associations, as well as other community groups. They may be requested to teach or speak to law enforcement and other groups about the criminal justice system.
Although no trial experience is necessary, the ideal candidate will have experience in the prosecution of both jury and non-jury trials. Further, candidates should be capable of working independently, assessing cases, interviewing victims and witnesses, working with police officers, maintaining a current knowledge of criminal law, making court appearances, and working collaboratively with both attorney and non-attorney staff.
The County of Kaua`i Prosecutor's Office has one office located in Lihue, directly across the street of the Kaua`i Judiciary Complex and requires a valid State of Hawai`i Bar License.
