Job Summary

Responsible for performing general building maintenance and facilities support duties requiring certified powered equipment including:  (1) ensuring the overall cleanliness of the entire warehouse, including the cleanliness of all power equipment; (2) maintaining a safe and professional work environment both in and outside the warehouse; (3) trash collection and removal while using power equipment; (4) power equipment battery changing, watering, cleaning, and care; (5) outside facilities care including snow removal, general landscaping, maintaining building appearance, and ensuring safety in the parking lot and trailer yard; (6) general building upkeep and special projects; (7) proficient in all maintenance required programs including the recycling programs, baler, compactor, lock out/tag out procedures, and hazardous materials; (8) operating powered equipment including: forklift, pallet jack, tugger, clamp attachments, sweeper/scrubber, scissor lift, and battery changer; (9) working knowledge of hand tools and power tools; and (10) displaying good communication skills and can work well with others and independently with minimal supervision.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• General maintenance duties including maintaining the cleanliness of all powered equipment.
• General warehouse maintenance duties to maintain a safe and professional work environment both in and outside.
• Proficient in all maintenance required programs including recycling of plastics and cardboard, lock out/tag out procedures and hazardous materials.
• Must be able to operate all powered equipment within the warehouse.
• Working knowledge of hand and powered tools.
• General warehouse activities which require certification of power equipment.  May also be asked to unload trailers, break down mixed pallets, build and shrink wrap pallets of freight in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain established safety and maintenance guidelines by performing general warehouse maintenance duties including: sweeping, dusting, cleaning, and removal of debris from the outside perimeter of the facility.
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment. 
• Display good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Maintains all Distribution Center policies and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Qualifications

• Previous power equipment experience preferred
• At least 18 years of age.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent

Environmental Job Conditions

• Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds.  May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Located in an environment with exposure to changing temperatures, including heat and cold, noise and dust
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, twist for up to 8 hours per day

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $24.60
