Job Summary: The Data Center Foreman is responsible for leading field installation crews and overseeing the deployment of data center infrastructure projects in colocation, enterprise, regional, and hyperscale environments. This working lead role is responsible for crew direction, customer interface, redline management, installation quality, and execution of project deliverables for new builds, expansions, and MACD projects. The Foreman provides on-site leadership while actively supporting installation activities and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
•    Lead and coordinate field crews performing data center infrastructure installations 
•    Direct daily work assignments and ensure crews execute work according to project schedules, engineered drawings, and customer requirements 
•    Serve as the primary on-site customer contact for installation activities and project coordination 
•    Oversee installation of racks, containment systems, structured cabling, overhead conveyance systems, and power distribution infrastructure 
•    Review and interpret engineered drawings, floor plans, scopes of work, and MOPs with installation teams 
•    Manage installation quality, QA/QC processes, punch lists, redlines, and as-built documentation 
•    Coordinate field changes and communicate installation updates to project management and customers 
•    Support rack and stack activities for servers, switches, storage arrays, and optical transport equipment 
•    Ensure proper grounding, bonding, cable management, airflow management, and labeling standards are maintained 
•    Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, and adherence to safety requirements 
•    Train, mentor, and develop crew members 
•    Assist with project planning, material coordination, and closeout activities 
•    Support hands-on installation work as required 
•    Maintain clean and organized work areas, including proper housekeeping of tools, materials, and installation debris
•    Follow all Company safety policies, customer site requirements, and established safe work practices at all times
•    Accurately complete and submit timecards and other required administrative records in a timely manner
•    Travel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays 
•    Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

 

Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education

 

Experience: 
•    Five or more years of experience in data center infrastructure installation or telecommunications deployment
•    Prior experience leading installation crews or serving in a lead technician role 
•    Experience managing projects in colocation, enterprise, or hyperscale data center environments preferred
•    Experience performing full row installations and installation QA/QC activities 
•    Experience in colocation or hyperscale environments preferred 
•    Must have or obtain and maintain OSHA 30 Construction Training Card
•    Must have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification

 

Technical Skills:
•    Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency 
•    Advanced knowledge of structured cabling systems, rack installation, and data center infrastructure deployment 
•    Strong understanding of copper and fiber optic installation standards and best practices 
•    Ability to interpret engineered drawings, redlines, and as-built documentation 
•    Experience with power infrastructure including rPDUs, busway, RPPs, tap boxes, cable whips, and FAP systems 
•    Familiarity with switches, optical transport systems, and network infrastructure 
•    Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes and installation verification procedures 
•    Proficiency with installation tools, testing equipment, and deployment documentation 
•    BICSI and manufacturer certifications preferred

Physical Requirements: 
•    Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
•    Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
•    Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly 
•    Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
•    Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and power tools 
•    Ability to work in active construction and live data center environments
•    Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
•    Ability to work long and unpredictable hours and flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required 
•    Ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 75% of the time
