Job description:

Purpose of the Role:

Leverage data management and analysis to improve plant reliability and efficiency. This role involves developing predictive maintenance models, managing data integrations, and ensuring the integrity of operational data systems.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

▪ Developing and maintaining data pipelines that consolidate information from multiple operational and business systems.

▪Analyzing equipment performance, maintenance, and reliability data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities.

▪ Building predictive maintenance models to forecast equipment failures and support proactive maintenance strategies.

▪ Creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to maintenance and operations teams.

▪ Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, accessibility, and governance across reliability-related systems.

▪ Collaborating with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions that improve decision-making and asset performance.

▪ Supporting continuous improvement initiatives through advanced analytics, process optimization, and reliability-focused reporting.

▪ Providing training and technical support on data analytics tools, methodologies, and reporting systems.

▪ Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, predictive analytics, and machine learning applications.

▪ Strong knowledge of SQL for querying, extracting, transforming, and analyzing large operational datasets.

▪ Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and other data visualization tools to develop interactive dashboards, reports, and performance monitoring solutions.

▪ Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Pronto Xi, JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, or equivalent business management platforms.

▪ Familiarity with industrial data historians, SCADA systems, PI System, or other operational technology platforms.

▪ Knowledge of cloud-based analytics and data management platforms.

▪ Exposure to big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Hadoop

▪ Knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, data quality management, and data governance principles.

▪ Ability to collect, cleanse, analyze, and interpret large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

▪ Strong statistical and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for performance improvement.

▪ Experience in developing automated reporting solutions that enhance operational visibility and decision-making.

• Develop and execute PMO Project “Preventive Maintenance Optimization” to keep the execution Preventive Maintenance program up to date.

• Work closely with planners and work execution teams to understand and improve issues related to work instructions.

• Analyse the performance of the PM’s and their relevance with regards to preventing failure as per conclusions of root cause analysis.

• Coach and support the execution team in the development of comprehensive standard jobs.

Equipment Strategies:

Defect Elimination and Bad Actor Management

• Develop and maintain a strategic plan for defect elimination and managing bad actors.

• Develop and support personnel in usage of Reliability based methodology, bad actor identification and maintenance KPI’s monitoring.

Contribute to the management of Health and Safety by;

• Understands and communicates the company’s EH&S vision, policies and

standards to team.

• Identifies EH&S risks and exposures in the analysis and recommendation for

change.

• Lead the team to take every opportunity to minimise environmental impacts and to use resources as efficiently as possible to promote sustainable development.

• Contributing to the identification of the significant Health and safety risks of the equipment.

• Ensuring that health and safety training is completed as required.

• Ensuring that incidents related to health, safety or the environment are reported and assist in investigations to identify any additional controls required.

• Attend regular safety meetings

• Actively promote continuous improvement in safety performance throughout the workforce.

Job Specific Competencies:

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

▪ Ensuring that both Company and Vendor Safety and Quality standards are adhered to during Installation / Maintenance, Configuring of Field Bus Systems (Profibus / Ethernet) / Fiber Optical Systems, whilst ensuring minimum disruption to the Process Plant Operation or Production

▪ Performing Fault Analysis/Fault Finding on Field Bus Systems (Profibus/Ethernet) / Fibre Optical Systems in order to eliminate re-occurrences of repetitive faults and improve Process Control Systems reliability and efficiency

▪ An understanding of the Network Drawings of the Processing Plant in relation to the Control & Instrumentation Systems and Equipment installed

▪ Keeping record of all changes and red-line required Systems / Network Drawings for Instrumentation

Experience & Qualifications:

▪ Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing, mining, or industrial environment.

▪ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
