Job Title: Customer Solutions Management – PM (Modernization)

KONE is seeking a highly skilled Customer Solutions Management – PM to support our Modernization business by providing technical expertise, solution development, tendering support, and project consultation for complex elevator modernization opportunities across North America.

This position serves as a key technical partner to our Front-Line sales and operations teams, helping develop modernization solutions that meet customer requirements while ensuring technical feasibility, code compliance, operational efficiency, and business profitability. Unlike a traditional construction or PMO project management role, this position focuses on technical solution development, modernization planning, tender support, value engineering, and project booking activities throughout the customer sales and delivery process.

JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Customer Solutions Management – PM you will act as a subject matter expert supporting modernization projects from opportunity evaluation through project booking and implementation planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Modernization Solution Development

  • Analyze customer modernization requirements and existing elevator equipment conditions.

  • Develop technical modernization solutions that address customer needs and align with KONE products and capabilities.

  • Support Front Line teams in identifying optimal modernization strategies for complex applications.

  • Recommend value-engineering alternatives that improve project competitiveness and customer outcomes.

Technical Sales & Tendering Support

  • Provide technical expertise throughout the modernization tendering process.

  • Review modernization specifications and determine product compatibility and application requirements.

  • Develop technical proposals and costing recommendations.

  • Support pre-tender and pre-booking reviews for complex modernization opportunities.

  • Coordinate with engineering, sourcing, and supply line partners to ensure solution feasibility and delivery expectations.

Project Booking & Technical Coordination

  • Manage technical project documentation and booking processes.

  • Review and organize engineering drawings, specifications, surveys, and related project records.

  • Partner with Front Line teams to ensure required documentation is complete and technically accurate.

  • Support order engineering processes and project handoff activities.

  • Maintain organized project information and reporting related to modernization support activities.

Technical Consulting

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to sales teams, customers, consultants, contractors, architects, and engineers when technical expertise is required.

  • Participate in planning, design, specification, and project review meetings.

  • Provide guidance on modernization methods, installation practices, labor considerations, and equipment applications.

  • Help resolve technical challenges associated with existing equipment modernization projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience within the elevator industry.

  • Experience in modernization, field operations, engineering, technical sales support, branch operations, estimating, project delivery, or product applications.

  • Strong understanding of elevator modernization methods and existing equipment assessments.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical solutions, tendering, estimating, or project planning activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Ability to travel as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related technical field.

  • Knowledge of SAP and order engineering processes.

  • Experience supporting modernization sales opportunities.

  • Familiarity with competitor modernization solutions and industry technologies.

  • Experience conducting equipment surveys and technical evaluations.

  • Strong understanding of elevator codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Annual Base Pay Range: The hiring range for this role is $120,300 – 157,920.  The compensation package offered will depend on their ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.  

 Variable Compensation: KONE Annual Bonus plan (60/40) based on achievement of company goals and individual goals.
