Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Certified Central Sterile Service Technician II at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Shift: Full Time Nights 9pm-7am position, Monday through Friday. 

Job Description

The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.

Education

• HSD/GED REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Certification - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) ​REQUIRED*****

Experience

• 1 year CSS, sterilization, and/or central sterile processing experience REQUIRED****

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.50 - $32.83 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
