Job Description:

At Regions, the Credit Products Specialized Industries Product Specialist partners with coverage in client-facing engagements to deliver credit product solutions tailored to client needs. This role serves as part of the first line of defense, with the coverage team, in identifying and mitigating risk in existing and proposed credit products transactions. The role works directly with teammates in Credit Products, Credit Risk, Client Coverage, Capital Markets, and other areas of the bank to lead the analysis of credit opportunities, underwriting of credit exposure and management of a portfolio of loans and other credit relationships while providing effective challenge to these various constituents. This role provides subject matter expertise and manages the overall delivery of credit products to assigned clients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Works in support of coverage bankers to develop target sets of companies within markets to enhance proper client selectivity
• Adds value directly to the largest and most complex client relationships by articulating Regions’ underwriting methods, processes and risk appetite for specific credit products
• Maintains market knowledge of loan pricing and structural trends to match client needs with Regions’ credit product solutions
• Partners with coverage bankers on joint client calls to assess complex client needs and identify key business risks
• Works with coverage bankers to develop client strategies focusing on existing and potential credit exposure
• Assists coverage bankers in optimizing relationships through cross sell activities of credit products
• Leads the credit process on identified credit product opportunities 
• Maintains accountability for structuring, underwriting, closing and management of new and existing credit products for clients
• Serves as the primary contact with Credit Risk
• Oversees ongoing portfolio monitoring, with accountability for periodic reviews and servicing requirements

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Seven (7) years of underwriting and portfolio management experience
• Completion of a major corporate credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)
• Experience in relationship management either as a coverage banker or as a client facing member of the relationship team
• Legal document and financial analysis experience
• Understanding of loan structuring needs, loan documentation requirements and market knowledge

As a member of the Healthcare Real Estate Credit Products team, you will engage in dynamic collaboration with peers, product partners, and others within Coverage and Credit Risk. Your responsibilities will include the underwriting, documentation, and oversight of a designated client portfolio comprised of Acute Care Real Estate, senior housing and skilled nursing owner/operators, financial sponsors, and not-for-profit hospitals and health systems.
