About the Role:

Hastings Deering (PNG) Limited is currently recruiting for a CRC Supervisor to join our Service Team based in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. 

This role primarily exists to provide professional team supervision and leadership to the Service Team under his/her supervision. This is achieved by instilling the values of Safety, Productivity and Quality in the team to ensure that our customers receive the best quality product that our brand stands for and customers rightfully expect.

Reporting to the CRC Service Manager your competency and experience will include:

Ensure safety goals are achieved through personal commitment, no harm to self or others and participation in safety initiatives

• Ensure customer expectations are mutually agreed through engagement with managers and team
• Ensure customer priorities are continually improved through application of customer-first processes
• Align goal setting, work plans, budget & resource allocation with plan & group/organisation goals
• When required, assist in resolving work order inefficiency issues to provide the best outcome for all stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring the required weekly departmental meetings are conducted effectively and actionable items are to be followed up upon (Work in Process (WIP), Service Coordinator/Service Advisor and Work Order Scheduling).
• Responsible for ensuring the required monthly departmental meetings are conducted effectively and actionable items are to be follows up upon (Efficiency and Monthly Trading Statement).
• Responsible for ensuring all requirements have been communicated to the Workshop Leading Hand/Workshop Foreman including expected arrival of the machine/component and promise dates.
• Determining any warranty, including machine, parts, service in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty guide.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate work order estimates are assigned when quoting and estimating work orders then delivering them to customers.
• Responsible for monitoring all work orders for quality and efficiency in conjunction with the Service Coordinator/Advisor.
• Actively participates in the required weekly departmental meetings (Work in Process (WIP), Service Coordinator/Service Advisor and Work Order Scheduling).

About You:

You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Diesel Fitter Trade Qualification
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in the mining, mining services or heavy earthmoving industries
• Skills to effectively diagnose and repair basic electrical circuits and electronic controlling systems
• Competent to repair, rebuild and replace engines and drive lines in large earth moving equipment
• Diagnose skills to ensure a fault/issue is identified to it’s root cause before parts replacement
• Competent to diagnose, repair and replace hydraulic systems and components, including in depth testing.
• Excellent communication skills, proven understanding of safe work practices.
• Technical and product knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and operating systems.
• Competency with using CAT SIS and ET.
