About this Cost Product Expert - A4 Volume and SMB LaserJet R&D role at HP
Description -
- Lead strategic initiatives to reduce product costs across hardware, mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and supply chain domains.
- Identify and drive high-impact cost reduction opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Establish cost roadmaps and savings targets aligned with business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership in balancing cost, performance, quality, reliability, and customer experience requirements.
- Lead value engineering activities to eliminate unnecessary complexity and reduce overall product cost.
- Evaluate trade-offs and recommend solutions that maximize business value while minimizing risk.
- Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management teams to execute cost reduction programs.
- Drive alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities and objectives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Typically 8+ years of experience in product development, value engineering, cost engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable product cost reductions and business impact.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is preferred.
- Experience in printing, imaging, consumer electronics, or technology product development is highly desirable.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering programs, assets and cost reduction initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
