Job Description

  

Job Summary:

The Cryocooler Technician performs precision mechanical assembly for the cryocooler production line. The Cryocooler Technician also performs the required processes of cleaning, documenting, and testing of parts, subassemblies, and finished goods. This role utilizes production tooling, computers, and specialized equipment required for production and material/WIP tracking, identifies and documents discrepant material, and interacts with co-workers, managers, and the engineering department.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs precision electro-mechanical assembly tasks, including cleaning, mechanical assembly, and adhesive application

  • Follows documented procedures and work instructions to assemble cryogenic coolers and sub-assemblies

  • Performs data entry for travelers and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking systems

  • Performs measurements and execute test procedures; accurately record and document results

  • Performs hand soldering of cable harnesses and basic electrical connections

  • Conducts incoming inspection of components using standard measurement tools and equipment

  • Supports functional testing of sub-assemblies, including motors and other key cooler components

  • Communicates results, observations, and issues to engineering and production personnel

  • Maintains lab standards, including adherence to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and ESD protocols

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be able to use a microscope

  • Must be able to work from equipment manuals, blueprints or sketches

  • Must be able to use standard test equipment, such as digital multimeters or gauges

  • Must be able to identify and report defects, nonconformances, and process issues

  • Must be able to communicate orally, read, and write using the English language

Desired Skills:

  • Requires a high school diploma or some degree of vocational or technical training

  • 0-1 years of electro-mechanical assembly, or related experience

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

  

Salary Range:

$34,300.00-$45,700.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
