Position: Cook

Location: Bright Horizons at USC in Columbia, SC

Schedule: approximately 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday

Compensation*: $14.00 and $17.00 per hour and comprehensive benefits

As a Cook with Bright Horizons, you’ll support in planning menus, prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack for approximately 180 children, and order inventory as you make a real difference in the lives of children, families, and staff!

As a Cook, you will:

• Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff
• Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
• Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals, as well as cleaning and complying with sanitation requirements.

Requirements:

Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:

• At least 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED required
• Relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen required
• Food service/food handler permit or license according to state/local regulations (or a plan to complete those requirements with support of the center) required

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the employee to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons’, and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training. If hired, you will work in person in an early education/preschool child care center to provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery and services per Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures and guidance, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations, and in a manner that will ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons care and the employee.

Compensation:

Thee hourly rate for this position is between $14.00 and $17.00 per hour. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.
