About the role

As Cook B at Domes Zeen Chania, a Luxury Collection Resort, you will hold a key position in the kitchen, bringing solid cooking skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to perform under pressure. You will prepare and cook dishes, keep high standards of cleanliness and safety, and build the skills to grow your culinary career with Domes Resorts.

What you will do

Kitchen operations

•     Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and measuring.

•     Cook and plate dishes to our recipes and the instructions of the Cook A, Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.

•     Keep the kitchen, equipment and workstations clean and organised.

Stock and cleanliness

•     Keep your workstation clean and organised during the shift, disposing of waste and cleaning surfaces regularly.

•     Store ingredients correctly to protect their quality, including at the right temperatures.

•     Monitor ingredient levels and report promptly when stock is needed.

Teamwork

•     Work with the kitchen team on assigned tasks and preparations for a smooth workflow.

•     Report any issues with equipment, orders or supplies to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

•     Help train new team members in food preparation and kitchen standards.

Requirements

What you will bring

• At least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in high volume or fine dining.

• Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and kitchen procedures.

• Basic knowledge of allergen management.

• Good knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.

• Good spoken English.

• The ability to work under pressure and manage several priorities in a fast paced kitchen.

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Clear communication and strong teamwork.

• A passion for learning and developing in a leading kitchen.

• The ability to build strong working relationships within the hotel and across the group.

• A culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognised culinary school is desirable.
