About the Role:

We are seeking a Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing Eriez industrial control equipment. This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing safe, reliable operation of Eriez industrial control equipment and the proper function of the equipment operated by the controls. .

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, wire, and test electrical and basic electronic products
  • Perform layout and drill operations whenever necessary to meet production schedules
  • Use the label printer to make appropriate tags for Eriez equipment
  • Wire and test Eriez equipment in other departments as needed to meet customer demands
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols in all aspects of work
  • Complete tasks timely and efficiently in accordance with expectations as directed by supervisor
  • Able to operate tools including but not limited to hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc.
  • Ability to learn Eriez labor and work order collection system
  • Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Two-year degree in electrical technology, or equivalent experience assembling, wiring, and testing industrial control equipment
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience
  • Able to read and understand complex electrical schematics, basic electronic schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Working knowledge of high voltage and high current circuits down to control signal levels and instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of industrial control components including but not limited to relays, timers, starters, rectifiers, shunts, transformers, motors, VFD’s, PLC’s and various forms of instrumentation
  • Familiar with various electrical and electronic testing equipment and procedures to check and test the performance and safety of electrical controls and electronic products
  • Experience with wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment
  • Able to plan, layout, wire, and test complete systems in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner

Essential Functions of Manufacturing Jobs

  • Required to pass a pre-employment occupational physical.
  • Possess the ability to recognize and avoid safety hazards.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for an extended period.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. This includes the ability to alternate between sitting and standing. 
  • Be physically active for long periods without experiencing excessive fatigue.
  • Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
  • Must be able to see details at close range and at distance with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to communicate and understand information to and from another employee.
  • Must possess the ability to adjust to a dynamic work environment.
  • The ability to safely push and pull as needed to perform duties directly associated with scope of work.
