About the Role

As the Contractor Management and Performance Manager based at WA Mining, you will lead the governance, performance, strategic management, and overall portfolio of contractors across Alcoa’s mining operations. This is a permanent role working on a Monday to Friday roster based at our Huntly Operations.

You will play a critical role in strengthening contractor oversight, improving safety outcomes, productivity performance, and driving cost discipline across key areas including pre-mining, operations, maintenance, rehabilitation, and project delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead implementation of contractor management systems and governance frameworks

  • Ensure contractor prequalification, onboarding, and ongoing compliance

  • Monitor contractor safety performance and support incident management

  • Drive contractor performance against KPIs, service agreements, and operational priorities

  • Lead cost control and optimisation initiatives, particularly in rehabilitation activities

  • Oversee audits and assurance activities to verify compliance and performance

  • Partner with Operations, HSE, Procurement, and HR to align contractor delivery with business objectives

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in mining, civil engineering, or a related discipline

  • Proven ability to lead contractor management within mining or heavy industry environments

  • Strong safety leadership with a commitment to zero harm outcomes

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including cost control and contract performance optimisation

  • Experience influencing and engaging diverse stakeholders across operations and corporate functions

  • Strong negotiation, governance, and assurance capability

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.
