As a Consultant, Science/Engineering, you play a critical role in safely transforming contaminated and industrial sites into spaces ready for reuse. What Your Impact Is:
You’ll be a key contributor to collecting data prior to field execution and construction management for demolition, decommissioning, and remediation projects across oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, and power generation facilities. From asbestos sampling to planning and cost estimating to contractor oversight and safety leadership, your contributions will directly influence project outcomes, schedule adherence, and safe site performance.
What You’ll Bring:
Required
BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Certified Asbestos Inspector (sampler) state(s) licensed
3–5 years of relevant industrial hygiene or environmental consulting experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, clients, and project teams.
Experience with asbestos, mold, and lead sampling.
Working knowledge of applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Experience with demolition, decommissioning, and decontamination (DDD) projects
Familiarity with contractor oversight, bid packages, and cost estimating
Key Responsibilities:
Collect building material, air, and noise samples and interpret the data.
Perform asbestos and lead-based paint inspections as a lead or other building materials as required for the project.
Follow written scopes of work and take detailed field notes.
Plan and execute remediation and DDD construction projects, including design reviews, constructability assessments, cost estimates, and pre-construction coordination
Prepare remediation, construction, demolition, and decommissioning bid packages and engineering cost estimates
Provide day-to-day oversight of contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and field staff to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work
Monitor project progress, schedules, and site activities; identify risks and support timely resolution
Review contractor submittals such as RFIs, change orders, and compliance documentation
Serve as Field Safety Officer on assigned projects, developing and implementing site-specific Health & Safety Plans, conducting daily safety briefings, and maintaining safety records
Perform construction management and quality assurance services across earthwork, site restoration, remedial systems, and disposal facilities
Act as a liaison between field teams and ERM Project Managers, ensuring field execution aligns with project plans and specifications
Work Environment
This role is primarily field-based with travel throughout the United States.
The majority of time will be spent conducting building assessments, inspections, and sampling activities and report writing and data analysis
For the Consultant, Science/Engineering position, the anticipated annual base pay is $74,250–$103,128 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
