Job Purpose:  

This position is responsible for delivering high quality compliance services to clients. Services include research, analysis and training/education on compliance issues in order to meet our business objectives. This role is also responsible for collaborating, educating and advising our business partners on risk identification and mitigation strategies. 

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Requires in-depth knowledge and experience. 

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements. 

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services. 

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and approaches changes with flexibility. 

  • Works independently, receives minimal guidance. 

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. 

  • Proactively assess and monitor programs, processes and initiatives as they relate to ethics/compliance. Actively identify risks to the business, products, work and associates. 

  • Perform complex compliance reviews, enterprise assessments and policy/procedure reviews to ensure clarity, applicability and compliance with applicable law. 

  • Provide technical analysis of existing and pending legislative activities. 

  • Review service products, marketing materials and business processes for compliance. 

  • Provides strategic direction in the preparation of regulatory filings and/or forms in order to meet business needs and comply with the substance and language requirements of regulatory authorities in all states. 

  • Develop and implement training/education programs. 

Regulatory Response Support

  • The Compliance Consultant, Regulatory Response Support, provides compliance support across life insurance, preplanning, AD&D and legacy health, annuities, lending payment protection products, and Commercial P&C products. The position serves as a peer resource to product-aligned Compliance Consultants and assists with regulatory examinations, data calls, regulatory inquiries, audits, and complaint responses during periods of increased workload, major examinations, staff transitions, or other resource-intensive activities. This role is intended to develop broad insurance regulatory response expertise across multiple product lines while providing flexible support to compliance teams as business needs evolve.

  • Partner with business, operations, data, and technology teams to understand how information is obtained, created, stored, transformed, and reported across the organization, and leverage that knowledge to support regulatory response activities and development of proactive compliance monitoring.

  • Assist product Compliance Consultants with market conduct examinations, audits, regulatory inquiries, surveys, and information requests, including drafting response narratives, summaries, and exhibits.

  • Serves as a flexible resource that can be deployed where regulatory workload is greatest and works directly with business partners, including business office, administrative office and enterprise information & technology to collect and organize responsive information: gather data, documentation, business records, procedures, and supporting materials needed for regulatory responses.

  • Support remediation and follow-up activities arising from examinations or regulatory inquiries.

  • Prepare draft submissions and supporting materials for review and validation.

  • Develop familiarity with recurring reporting obligations across multiple product lines and broad knowledge of regulatory expectations and regulatory response practices across multiple product areas.

  • Serves as a flexible resource that can be deployed where regulatory workload is greatest.

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field or equivalent related experience. 

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance, business or government regulations/compliance or equivalent work experience. 

  • Ability to perform technical research and analysis of laws and regulations and apply them to company operations, products and marketing. 

  • Demonstrated organization and project management skills. 

  • Ability to work with limited direction, set priorities and manage deadlines. 

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$83,100.00 - $124,700.00
