Compliance Manager, Marsh Pacific

Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid role (minimum 3 days per week in the office)

Marsh is seeking a talented compliance professional to join our Line 2 Risk and Compliance team. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across the business in a highly visible role and impactful position.

In this role, you will help strengthen Marsh Pacific’s compliance culture by providing practical advice, supporting the development of compliance frameworks and policies, and partnering with key stakeholders across the business. You will play an important part in helping the organisation meet its regulatory obligations, manage compliance risk, and uphold high standards of integrity. This is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Marsh Pacific business.

We will count on you to:

• Provide compliance advisory support across insurance broking, investments, and other regulatory matters to stakeholders across Marsh.
• Support the development and improvement of compliance frameworks, policies and processes that help manage compliance risk.
• Undertake Line 2 obligations management activities, including maintaining the obligations library for Marsh.
• Establish and support monitoring activities that assess compliance with organisational policies and regulatory obligations and identify opportunities to improve controls and practices.
• Manage and help maintain appropriate financial services licences and authorisations for Marsh Pacific entities.
• Support compliance activities in line with licensing requirements including conflicts management activities, compliance plan reviews and monitoring, training development and implementation.
• Support and guide our Line 1 colleagues, business partners and our broader risk and compliance colleagues.

What you need to have:

• Experience in a compliance, legal or regulatory role, ideally within the Australian financial services industry.
• Experience in insurance broking or insurance. Some exposure to investments would also be helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements in a practical and sensible manner.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to provide practical and strategic advice to senior stakeholders and Board audiences.
