Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Construction Loan Administrator to support complex commercial construction lending projects from pre-closing through project completion. This role serves as a key partner to Relationship Managers, borrowers, attorneys, title companies, construction consultants, and other internal stakeholders to ensure construction loan disbursements are properly administered and the bank's interests are protected throughout the life of each project.

The position focuses specifically on commercial real estate construction lending and construction disbursement administration. Team members oversee construction budgets, review draw requests and supporting documentation, monitor project progress, analyze funding requirements, and facilitate loan disbursements until construction is complete.

Location expectations 
This role requires working from one of the following U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week: 60 Livingston Ave Saint Paul, MN OR 5065 Wooster Rd Cincinnati, OH

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze construction loan documents before closing, with a focus on construction disbursement requirements and project funding structures.
  • Participate in the negotiation and administration of construction-related loan provisions to ensure appropriate controls and risk mitigation.
  • Establish and maintain construction budgets, funding sources, and project cost tracking throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Review construction draw packages, including invoices, contractor pay applications, change orders, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze project expenditures and verify that disbursement requests align with approved budgets and project progress.
  • Coordinate with inspectors, title companies, attorneys, borrowers, and relationship managers to support timely funding decisions.
  • Monitor projects to identify budget shortfalls, documentation deficiencies, title concerns, insurance issues, or other risks that could impact project completion.
  • Validate construction progress through inspections and supporting documentation prior to loan funding.
  • Prepare recommendations and obtain necessary approvals before construction draw disbursements are released.
  • Maintain ongoing oversight of assigned construction projects from closing through stabilization and transition to long-term servicing teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in commercial real estate loan administration, construction lending, construction disbursement administration, or a related field.

OR

  • Seven or more years of transferable experience in commercial lending, commercial real estate, construction finance, real estate development, general contracting, or related construction industry functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting commercial real estate construction loans and construction disbursements.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction projects, including project budgets, draw administration, contractor payment processes, and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate lending structures and project financing.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, change orders, lien waivers, title requirements, and inspection processes.
  • Experience working with developers, contractors, subcontractors, or commercial real estate organizations.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial and project documentation while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $71,400.00 - $84,000.00
