CNC Setup Technician

Job Description Summary

Responsible for CNC Lathe machine troubleshooting, updating tool paths and completing set ups/change overs for machines on 3rd Shift.

Job Description:

• Recognize tool paths by interpreting the program (G and M codes)
• Machine set-ups and changeovers
• Ability to train associates on machining standards
• Troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur
• Participate in continuous improvement processes
• Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards

Required Skills and Education

• 1 to 3 years of experience in high volume precision machining environment
• General understanding of manufacturing processes and detailed knowledge of CNC lathe tooling/programming
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required
• Knowledge of Hard Turning, Green Turning, Milling, Broaching and Part Finishing machining processes
• Knowledge to teach robot and gantry pickup points
• Knowledge of Nachi robot controls
