  • Perform or support incoming, first-piece, in-process, final and First Article dimensional inspections.
  • Analyze CMM results and dimensional trends; clearly communicate findings and potential measurement or product concerns.
  • Verify CMM, probe, stylus, fixture and measurement-system readiness before use. Support calibration, probe qualification and verification activities, and appropriately escalate out-of-tolerance or unreliable measurement conditions.
  • Maintain controlled CMM programs, setup instructions, inspection reports and associated records in accordance with ARC, Hexcel and customer requirements.

  • Support nonconformance investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities by distinguishing part variation from programming, fixturing, setup, probe or measurement-system error.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Operations to improve inspection methods, fixturing, probing strategies, program cycle time and measurement repeatability; Develop clear work instructions and provide technical training and support to inspectors, technicians and operators.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of hands-on CMM programming and dimensional-inspection experience in aerospace, defense, precision machining or another controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing, modifying, debugging and validating Zeiss Calypso CMM programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications and GD&T requirements.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in metrology, manufacturing technology, quality, machining or a related discipline preferred but not necessary
  • Working knowledge of dimensional metrology, datum alignment, probe qualification, fixturing, measurement repeatability and inspection reporting.
  • Proficiency with manual inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, bore or pin gages and surface-plate methods.
  • Ability to analyze dimensional results, troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and communicate technical findings across functions.
  • Ability to create accurate, traceable technical records and follow document- and configuration-control requirements.
  • Ability to follow applicable safety procedures, quality-system requirements and controlled work instructions; maintain a clean and organized metrology work area.
  • Experience with advanced Calypso functions, offline programming, conditional logic, loops or automated reporting preferred but not necessary
