General Summary
Essential Job Accountabilities
Research and track prospective customers, key clients, projects and opportunities to ensure increased sales.
Coordinate sales based on plant availability, current production and product balance including quoting and coordinating delivery of materials to ensure efficient and cost effective use of resources.
Provide support to Outside Materials sales representatives by supplying leads, answering overflow calls, generating and sending quotes and setting up orders.
Provide excellent customer service including answering calls, furnishing pricing, quotes, and submittals to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maintain, enter and manage quotes and orders, mix designs, products and plants and set up jobs in system to ensure accuracy.
Assist with the development and execution of business development action plans, strategic marketing plans, and department and individual sales objectives to ensure plants sales goals are met.
Prepare and review sales reports and coordinate budgets and forecasts throughout the region to ensure monthly and annual goals are developed and tracked.
Coordinate with Shared Services on all billing and credit related items to ensure accuracy of orders and minimize credits and re-bills.
Coordinate and develop communication with customers including direct mailings, organizing events, and promotions to ensure marketing goals are met and increased customer awareness.
Coordinate asphalt bid schedule including documenting pricing and creating all orders to ensure accuracy.
Maintain and track the AC and aggregate backlog including updating it by plant multiple times per month.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
Work Experience
0-3 years of inside or outside sales experience
Previous exposure to construction materials (asphalt, aggregates, etc.) preferred.
Previous experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to multi-task and handle high volume workload
Proficiency with computers and MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Professional phone and customer service skills
Knowledge of materials and construction sales practices
Ability to work on a team
Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information
Ability to generate leads and close deals
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Additional Requirements/Skills
Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
