The Clinical Resource Nurse is a professional nurse who serves in a collaborative role with the department nursing staff to provide continuing education and support quality improvement and practice initiatives. The Clinical Resource Nurse works with department leadership staff to assure compliance with regulatory standards including Joint Commission (JC), NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), CMS Meaningful Use (MU), OSHA/EOC, Safety/Infection Control, CLIA, Quality Care Audits, and DPH licensure requirement. The Clinical Resource Nurse is accountable for maintaining currency with own nursing practice and demonstrates commitment to own professional development and continuing education. The Clinical Resource Nurse will have continued clinical exposure to departmental workflows and work collaborate within clinical departments. Clinical practice within the department constitutes an average of 30% of the position.What You'll Do
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate with nursing and operational leadership to support clinical practice, workflow optimization, and team development across the department.
- Coordinate and deliver orientation, onboarding, and ongoing competency-based education for nursing staff and medical assistants.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, providing real-time support, guidance, and feedback to staff in daily operations.
- Conduct chart reviews, competency assessments, and performance feedback to support staff development and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, including audits, incident review, and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, DPH, NCQA, CLIA) through education, monitoring, and process improvement.
- Support transitions of care, clinical workflows, and evidence-based practice implementation within the department.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and participate in committees related to infection control, performance improvement, and clinical operations.
- Maintain proficiency in clinical practice and provide direct patient care as needed to support departmental operations.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the clinical environment.

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or in progress
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting required
- Experience in staff education, precepting, quality improvement, or clinical leadership strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead education initiatives, competency validation, and staff development programs
- Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred) and clinical documentation workflows
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence across all levels of staff
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to equity, culturally responsive care, and serving diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position operates in a combination of clinical and professional office environments.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and move between patient care and administrative areas.
- Maintains active involvement in clinical workflows, including occasional direct patient care and exposure to typical clinical conditions (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases).
- Must be able to operate a computer, clinical equipment, and standard office tools.
- Requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing administrative and computer-based tasks.
- Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 20–30 pounds (e.g., supplies, equipment).
- Must have adequate visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform essential job functions.
- May travel between clinic locations as needed.
- Expected to follow all NeighborHealth, OSHA, and infection control safety policies and procedures at all times.
Schedule: Five days on site Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Salary: Starting at $44/hr up to $64/hr based on experience
