Role:                                     Responsible Clinical Pharmacist (Nights)

Location:                             Bardon, Coalville LE67 1GQ – Hybrid  

The standard expectation is one week on-site followed by one week working from home. Additionally, the pharmacist will be required to provide on-site cover during periods of sickness or holiday for the other Responsible Pharmacist in this role.

Salary:                                 £28 per hour

Working hours:                  31 hours per week - Tuesday to Friday 2am-9am & Saturday 1am-6am

As a Responsible Pharmacist, you will take overall accountability for the safe and compliant running of the facility during your RP period. You will support the clinical operations team, and ensure patient safety remains the highest priority and  that all patients received the highest quality of care by ensuring clinical accuracy.

What you’ll be doing?

·        Assume Responsible Pharmacist duties and maintain legal, ethical and GPhC‑compliant pharmacy governance

·        Oversee safe and effective dispensary operations in a high‑volume environment

·        Clinically check all NHS and private prescriptions for accuracy, dosage and safety

·        Ensure prescription queries and responses are managed within agreed SLAs to support patient safety

·        Review and appropriately escalate incidents, near misses and risks

·        Provide clinical guidance to the dispensary and facility operations teams

·        Liaise with Professional Standards, Customer Service, Operations and Clinical teams to resolve prescription issues

·        Advise patients on interactions, side effects and minor ailments

·        Support team performance to meet operational and business targets while promoting a positive workplace culture

Who are we looking for?

·        Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring safe and effective pharmacy operations in line with GPhC standards and legal requirements.

·        Clinically check NHS and private prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.

·        Provide professional advice on medicines, side effects, interactions, and minor ailments.

·        Manage and resolve prescription queries, ensuring timely communication and escalation where required.

·        Review dispensing incidents and contribute to continuous improvement and patient safety initiatives.

·        Work effectively within a high-volume dispensing environment while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.

·        Collaborate with Customer Services, Purchasing, Operations, and Clinical teams to support efficient service delivery.

·        Support the achievement of operational and service performance targets.

·        Participate in the Responsible Pharmacist rota, working both on-site and remotely as required.

·        Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment.
