WHAT YOU’LL DO

This leader will be a forward thinker who understands how AI is reshaping work and ensures TNTP’s strategy helps young people and the systems that support them prepare for a changing economy. The Chief will advance the portfolio through a clear market strategy, new business, and sustainable partnership and funding models. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and revenue-minded, able to identify demand in new markets and sectors, build trust quickly with unfamiliar partners, and turn emerging ideas into tested, scalable, high-impact work.

Some responsibilities include:

Enterprise Strategy, Vision & Impact

  • Set and articulate a clear, compelling vision for TNTP’s Education to Career portfolio that reflects the organization’s strategic shift into transformational work, new markets, and new sectors.
  • Define enterprise strategy for connected education-to-career pathways across K-12, postsecondary, workforce, employer, and industry systems.
  • Bring external insights, labor-market trends, AI-driven shifts, and partnership opportunities to shape organizational direction and long-term positioning.
  • Create new lines of work, incubate and test emerging service models, and scale what proves effective across markets and sectors.
  • Bring real AI fluency to TNTP’s Education to Career strategy and determine what young people and the systems serving them need to prepare for a changing economy.
  • Own measurable outcomes across TNTP’s education-to-career ecosystem, driving impact for young people and the partners supporting their pathways to meaningful work and long-term economic mobility.

Growth, Sales & Sustainability

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth, sales, and market-entry strategy for the E2C portfolio, including sectors beyond TNTP’s historic K-12 footprint.
  • Secure new business, meet revenue targets, diversify TNTP’s service offerings, and shape sustainable funding and partnership models.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, funders, employers, industry leaders, workforce partners, postsecondary institutions, and strategic partners.

External Voice & Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a leading external voice on education-to-career pathways and economic mobility.
  • Amplify TNTP’s narrative through speaking, publications, and partnerships.
  • Translate TNTP’s work into compelling narratives that influence the field.

Executive Leadership & Enterprise Contribution

  • Serve as a builder and enterprise leader on TNTP’s Executive Team, helping shape the next phase of Education to Career work.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team.
  • Advance revenue-minded approaches to market entry, partnerships, funding models, and services that contribute to organizational sustainability.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, disciplined learning, and continuous improvement so TNTP can test new lines of work and scale what proves effective.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required Experience & Credentials

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in workforce development, career pathways, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience building, launching, and scaling transformational education-to-career, workforce, employer-partnership, or cross-sector systems work.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, professional-services growth, partnership development, revenue generation, and sustainable funding models.
  • Deep understanding of connected education-to-career ecosystems and the ability to interpret labor-market signals, policy changes, employer needs, emerging trends, and technology shifts.
  • Experience creating new lines of work, testing emerging models, using data to assess outcomes, and scaling effective services or business lines.
  • Exceptional executive communication, narrative, and storytelling skills, with experience serving as a senior organizational spokesperson and influencing national or system-level decisions.
  • Established relationships across public, private, civic, philanthropic, employer, industry, postsecondary, and/or workforce-development sectors.
  • A strong record of building and leading high-performing teams, aligning varied stakeholders around shared outcomes, navigating ambiguity and competing interests, and making principled decisions with accountability and resilience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 35-40% to engage with partners, clients, funders, TNTP teams and other stakeholders.
