About this Chief Compliance Officer, RHB Insurance role at RHB Bank

Responsible for leading and overseeing all aspect of compliance management for RHB Insurance. This critical role liaises with regulators and provides compliance advice on business initiatives and product development. This role responsible to promote compliance awareness and conduct reviews to ensure adherence to laws and regulations. Additionally, this role manages AML/CFT and targeted financial sanctions for RHBI.
Departmental Planning
•Convert divisional priorities into department-level goals and track performance against strategic KPIs.
•Ensure RHB Insurance complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., BNM, FSA 2013) and monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the business.
•Act as the AML Compliance Officer (AMLCO) and overseeing AML/CFT programs and monitor regulatory expectations related to terrorism financing and targeted financial sanctions (TFS) and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory AML requirements.
•Ensures that compliance is integrated into the company’s strategic direction. This involves proactively identifying regulatory risks, advising senior management, and embedding compliance considerations into business planning and decision-making processes and ensure the Board informed of key compliance matters.
Operational Execution
•Implement functional improvements and initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
•Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
•Coordinate and submit regulatory reports, surveys, and responses to inquiries or inspections.
•Ensure policies are effectively communicated and implemented across departments.
•Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff and promote a strong compliance culture and ethical behavior throughout the organization.
Regulatory Compliance
•Ensure operational compliance and uphold governance standards, while identifying and managing risks in day-to-day activities.
•Develop, review, and update internal compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks.
•Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across all business functions and integrate compliance risk into the company’s overall risk management framework.
•Review and advise on new product initiatives, marketing materials, and distribution practices to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
•Act as the primary liaison with regulators (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia).
Team Leadership
•Lead team performance and capability building, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and collaboration.
