Jobs Companies Guru Pay Chief Business Development Officer

About this Chief Business Development Officer role at Guru Pay

Guru Pay · Onsite · Vilnius, Vilnius City Municipality, Lithuania

Own the product portfolio of a licensed EU payments institution

Guru Pay is a Vilnius-based electronic money institution, licensed by the Bank of Lithuania and passported across the EEA. We are bringing a portfolio of payment products to market: open banking payments, card issuing, card payouts and SEPA Direct Debit — alongside a card acquiring line and more.

What you will own

•     The product portfolio - open banking, issuing, SEPA Direct Debit, card payouts, and other new projects initiated: pricing, partner terms, eligibility criteria, launch, and GTM for each line.

•     Partnerships and banking - issuing, open banking, and settlement partners, plus the bank correspondent relationships that widen our currency and safeguarding coverage.

•     Marketing and brand - acquisition and retention strategy, website, and the sales enablement the team sells with.

•     The development agenda at Executive table - you sit on the Executive Committee and report to the CEO.

What we are looking for

•     8 or more years in payments or financial services, including at least 3yrs leading a product portfolio or commercial function at a PSP, EMI, or bank.

•     A track record of taking payment products to live revenue and running several product lines/projects in parallel - launches you actually drove, not a book you inherited.

•     Real command of payment product economics: partner cost stacks, pricing construction, settlement and reconciliation, and provable margin per product.

•     Structured delivery experience - stage gates, dependencies, risk logs, and sign-offs, not delivery by goodwill and group chat.

•     Working knowledge of PSD2 and SCA, AML obligations, and card scheme rules - enough to design around them rather than trip over them.

•     Experience negotiating with issuing, open banking, and settlement providers, and with banks.

•     Fluent English. Lithuanian is an advantage, not a requirement.

Nice to have

•     PMO experience - you have built, owned, or worked inside a formal project management framework (PRINCE2, PMP, or an in-house equivalent).

•     Open banking / A2A, SEPA Direct Debit, or card issuing product experience.

•     Relationships across EEA payment platforms or e-commerce ecosystems.

•     You have led product owners as well as commercial people - this team spans both.

What we offer

•     Gross monthly salary from 5500 EUR gross plus a performance bonus tied to product launches and commercial results.

•     A genuine ExCo seat: you own the portfolio and how the company delivers it.

•     Three product lines going to market in parallel now, and the mandate to build the delivery framework they run through - scope that does not come up often in a licensed institution.

•     Direct access to the CEO, short decision paths, and no legacy structure to unpick.
