Job Description:

Job Duties:

• Perform all required chemical process tests required to maintain prescribed chemical balance or material mixture necessary for operation of equipment used to manufacture two-piece containers.
• Sample solutions at prescribed intervals to assure proper chemical balance and measure waste content.
• Add or dump chemical when waste content reaches maximum leviels.
• Mix and maintain solutions in the operation of the process washers, deionizers, coolant systems, water treatment, soluble oil filtrations system, and oil-water separation.
• Prepare initial and fresh chemical wash solutions for the process washer, involving measuring chemicals in liquid and/or dry form, mixing chemicals, testing for chemical make-up and use of chemical handling and safety equipment. Prepare initial or fresh batch of soluble oil mixture according to prescribed percentages for use in D&I presses and cuppers.
• Maintain and operate satellite washer equipment and soluble oil system necessary for continuous operation by changing filters, cleaning filter screens, and/or running adjustments, etc.
• Operate control switches and valves to activate wash stages and cycles. Essential controls involved in this operation are temperature, makeup flow, overflow, pressures and solution strength.
• Assist in performing repairs and maintenance on washers, waste treatment, D&I soluble oil systems. Assist maintenance personnel in making repairs and performs periodic maintenance on washers and satellite equipment.
• Use a forklift to safely move and store all barrel or bulk materials such as oil, chemicals, etc. Deliver all barrel or bulk materials to place of use on the line ready for use.
• Check and inventory materials and initiate orders as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely records and logs of operation.
• Keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly.
• Report any critical needs and issues to supervisor and maintenance personnel.
• Must be able to safely lift, bend, walk, stoop, climb, and drive a forklift.
• Employees will be required to do a fit test for a respirator.
