Essential Functions

Provides emotional and spiritual care and counsel to patients, their families, visitors, which includes acting as a liaison with the patient’s faith community.

Schedule:

One Sunday per month (9:00am to 5:30pm), Thursday overnight on-call from home (10:00pm to 7:00am)

Job Requirements

Education

• Master of Divinity or Theology degree or equivalent required.  Individuals with 5 or more years Chaplain experience in lieu of a Master's degree may be considered.
• Valid Ordination or ecclesiastical endorsement required and must be in good standing with appropriate ecclesiastical body.
• Completion of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required, 2 or more units is preferred.
• Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Facilitator certification required within 1 year of employment.

Experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years of pastoral ministry experience required.

License/Certifications

• Board Certification with an accredited professional chaplaincy organization preferred.
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC)
  • Board Certified Clinical Chaplain (BCCC)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Skilled in problem-solving, conflict management, and quality improvement.
• Excellent listening skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities and possession of excellent interpersonal skills.
