What You'll Do

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients maximize independence and improve functional performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, coordination, strengthening, and self-care skills
  • Assist patients in achieving functional goals and improving quality of life
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Complete timely and accurate therapy documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety strategies
  • Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in care conferences and discharge planning
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and patient-centered therapy environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred

  • Skilled nursing facility (SNF), post-acute, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and therapy documentation systems
  • Knowledge of Medicare, managed care, and rehabilitation practices
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
