The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Calibration Technician you will support Facility/calibration team in ensuring all equipment is calibrated in line with schedule and specifications to meet compliance requirements.

Major Role & Responsibilities:

• Supports critical to Safety, Quality & Service KPI’s
• Ownership of the day-to-day Calibration System to ensure requirements are met
• Contributes to maintaining safe and ergonomically acceptable processes.
• Supports closing out safety audit findings related to facility/calibration issues
• Supports process validation activities including IQ’s in relation to calibration.
• Supports the change management process for process documentation including work instructions.
• Supports closing out quality non-conformances including NC’s, NCMR’s and audit findings.
• Supports troubleshooting, root cause investigations and problem solving for calibration related issues.
• Supports data collection and analysis to identify key process improvement areas.
• Support Engineering in identification, diagnosis and rectification of test failures.
• Contributes to identifying and implementing process improvements for system efficiency including opportunities to realign calibrations to be completed by internal resources.
• Executing in-house calibration as per work instruction where applicable

• Lead/assist in drafting procedures, WIs etc. to maintain compliance and drive improvements.
• Supports equipment/tooling obsolescence programs.
• Maintains a high level of process, product and support system understanding for assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintains PEMAC system.
• Coordinates calibration contractors to ensure on time completion of activities and in compliance with procedures.
• Supports completion of Oracle transactions related to calibration and facilities when required.
• Ensures all records are accurate and audit ready at all times.

Requirements:

Education:

• Minimum of Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
• Training in Calibration Fundamentals or equivalent
• Minimum of Level 6 is required in a technical discipline

Experience

• Previous Experience in a Medical Device or GMP industry would be desirable.
• Exposure to Medical Device Validation, Lean and Six Sigma would be desirable.
• Experience interacting with various automated and manual equipment to prepare for calibration process in a controlled manner and adhering to EHS standards would be desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Function within a team environment and provide clear feedback to supervisor and department.
• Experience in Oracle change control and data analysis would be an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with strong people skills
• Proven excellence in PC skills - MS Word and Excel.
• Capable of working on own initiative and meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to carry out responsibilities to the highest standards ensuring compliance with all site policies and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to work adapting to varying circumstances. Ability to prioritize workload.
• Clear understanding of calibration fundamentals and traceability
• Ability to present calibration and associated documentation to an auditor in a clear and concise manner
