Overview
Join a critical technical support function for advanced geometric calibration systems powering mixed and augmented reality wearable devices production. As the on-the-ground extension of the calibration team, you will troubleshoot and optimize factory station performance, resolve complex calibration issues, and ensure that calibration processes meet exacting standards. You'll play a leading role in factory station bringup and, over time, directly contribute to the ongoing development of calibration software and automation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and investigate geometric calibration failures and anomalies on factory stations, performing systematic root cause analysis and driving real-time resolution.
- Lead bringup and validation of new and existing calibration stations in production environments, overseeing the end-to-end process to ensure calibration meets performance specifications.
- Serve as the primary technical point-of-contact onsite, diagnosing calibration system issues and effectively communicating findings to remote engineers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with calibration, manufacturing, and software teams to resolve technical challenges, improve station reliability, and enhance system robustness.
- Document failure modes, diagnostic processes, and lessons learned to build robust knowledge bases and best practice references for future deployments.
- Contribute to the factory station calibration codebase, supporting bug fixes, feature enhancements, and test automation development as your technical involvement deepens.
- Travel up to ~20% to sub-suppliers and partner sites to support station bringup activities during early build phases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Proven experience analyzing technical data and systematically troubleshooting complex system issues in production or lab settings.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages, ideally applied to computer vision, robotics, or calibration tooling.
- Experience working with integrated systems involving optics, robotics, sensors, or vision-based measurement.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including clear articulation of technical details to distributed cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in factory or manufacturing environments, including calibration station bringup, validation, or quality assurance workflows.
- Solid understanding of computer vision algorithms, particularly in geometric calibration (e.g., camera calibration, intrinsic/extrinsic parameter estimation, sensor alignment).
- Familiarity with calibration frameworks, physical sensor modeling, or multi-camera rig calibration and verification.
- Exposure to real-time image processing, 3D reconstruction, or multi-sensor data fusion techniques.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Jupyter notebooks, MATLAB) for performance troubleshooting and validation.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or a closely related technical discipline.
